Essential Tools
- Scrapbook paper—acid free, multiple sizes and various weights (thickness), colors, and designs
- Paper cutter to trim pages and paper scraps to size.
- Markers for labeling and journaling (specific to scrapbooking)
- Scissors, glue/adhesives (acid-free), page protectors, an album, frame or shadowbox
- Embellishments- includes stickers, ribbons, glitter, sparkles, tags, cogs, twine, feathers, etc.
Additional Tools
(Keep in mind that, typically, you won't use these until you become more involved in scrapbooking)
- Templates—create and cut frames or shapes for mounting and matting; requires specific blades/tools
- Punches—punch out shapes and designs, creates borders, shape corners, and create embellishments
- Cricket—uses cartridges, can write in colors (ink tips) or cut shapes, designs, letters, and specific items. It can cut paper, vinyl, fabric, felt, and even cake icing (fondant). I LOVE my Cricut!
- Cuttlebug—embosses and cuts dies (shapes), creates textures on paper ~ I am just learning this, so check back later for more information.
- Stamping—stamps and inks, including embossing powders ~ I am just learning these techniques and the differences in inks, so check back later for updates
